Parent Writing Contest

Parent involvement is the number one predictor of early literacy success and future academic achievement.  
This Spring, all families of our students are invited to participate in a writing contest where you may use your storytelling skills, personal experiences, honesty and creativity to create a compelling essay.  
Concept Schools manages 30 public charter schools across the Midwest, including your child’s school.  The Concept Schools network is divided into five regions, and the most compelling essays from each region will be awarded up to $300!
Choose one of the following prompts to complete a 500-750 word essay (2-3 typed, double-spaced, pages).  Use your storytelling skills, personal experience, honesty and creativity to create a compelling story.
Prompt 1
Share your child’s academic, social, athletic, or emotional success stories at school.
Prompt 2
Explain why you believe the public charter school movement is the right choice for your student and family.  
Entries must be submitted electronically by 4:00 p.m. (CST) on May 2, 2017.
Award winners will be announced by May 19, 2017
The top 4 winners from each of the 5 regions will be awarded:


1st Place: $200

2nd Place: $150 

3rd Pace: $100

4th Place: $50


The top essay across the network will be awarded an additional $100
