A School of EXCELLENCE

Dear Noble Academy Families and Students,

Welcome back to Noble Academy Cleveland, a school of EXCELLENCE, for the 2009-2010 school year. The Spring Festival was a great way to celebrate the end of the 2008-2009 school year and to prepare for the summer break. After a challenging and successful 2008-2009 school year, summer break was much deserved and needed. The families, students, and staff worked hard all year long and having time off to enjoy the summer and family is a great way to reenergize for the upcoming school year. Teachers prepared summer packets for the students during those days off, hoping to keep their brains active and agile. I am sure all of the students worked diligently on the packets and had them finished on the first day of school. I wish for all students, families, and staff for a stress free transition back into the classroom and school year.

The 2008-2009 school year was particularly challenging. Every year the Ohio Department of Education releases a state report card as an indicator of a school’s effectiveness. The Ohio Achievement Tests are mandated by the state as a way to grade a school. Receiving a high rating is not just about the state standard, the students are then aware of the quality of education they are receiving and take pride in gaining the knowledge and academics. Families also find security and comfort knowing their child is at a school where academics are priority. Communities respect the education and commitment to building leaders of the future from a school that has a high rating. Noble Academy Cleveland has been on the path of excellence for three short years, and with gracious fulfillment, I proudly introduce Noble Academy Cleveland, as a school of EXCELLENCE. The bench mark, of receiving the highest rating on a first year report card is owned by NAC. Our students, staff, and families deserve a standing ovation for the hard work, dedication, and commitment to education. I am very proud and respectful of being the director of a school of EXCELLENCE. Our dynamic staff went above and beyond in effort of delivering a quality education. Students showed up every Saturday for Saturday school. Some even gave up recess for extra tutoring. The desire and drive to be better students and a school exhibited by students amazes me. Our students take pride in being high academic achievers. Congratulations to our students, families, staff and friends for helping in our path of EXCELLENCE.

A new school year has begun. Each day the students will be challenged to be the best they can be. The students and families have been secured that our classrooms will be academically challenging and without any distractions. Our environment at NAC is respectful to the value of education, and I have noticed our new Kindergartners are becoming students quickly and are eager to be the best students they can be. All of us participate in the challenge every day of encouraging our students; it may not always be easy but it is worthy to the cause of their future and their leadership in the community. Open communication is encouraged at Noble Academy; we want to feel like we are not just a part of an EXCELLENT school but we are part of a family. Home visits are in progress, and if you have not scheduled your visit yet, please contact the office. I look forward to the home visits, as I am given the chance to receive feedback from the families and to meet the members of the family.

As with any new school year there are changes and challenges. I would like to share my appreciation for Mr. Sum for his time at Noble Academy Cleveland. Mr. Sum is now the assistant director at our sister school Horizon Science Academy Cleveland High School. His hard work and dedication to academics has influenced our students. He will continue his dedication at the high school, a recent Blue Ribbon Award recipient from the state of Ohio. Noble Academy Cleveland wishes him the best at his new position. Congratulations to the staff, students, and their families of Horizon Science Academy Cleveland High School for receiving such a prestigious award. I am also fortunate to have Mr. Aksu as the new coordinator of tests and academics. Good luck Mr. Aksu! With past, present, and future guidance our school will continue to be EXCELLENT. Please welcome the new teachers to our EXCELLENT school. I look forward to their new and fresh ideas and thoughts, and cannot wait to see their achievements. The International Dinner will be held on two separate occasions. The celebration is exciting and honors our cultures. Splitting the dinner by grades facilitates a more personal celebration of our cultures and value of education. Working together the 2009-2010 school year will be productive, positive, and EXCELLENT.

The students are eager to achieve and I am proud to be surrounded by positive and dedicated students and staff. Thank you to everyone involved with Noble Academy Cleveland. The new school year is full of challenges and achievements, our tradition of being a school of EXCELLENCE has begun, good luck in the new school year and keep up the hard work and commitment to yourself and to the school.

Mr. Kose
Director
